Appointment Policy

Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital is open six days a week for your convenience.

Each pet and scheduled surgery deserves ample time and attention. That’s why we rely on appointments to keep our schedule running smoothly. If you would like to schedule a visit for your pet, please call us at (727) 391-9784.

Patient Arrival Policy

All pets visiting our facility must be properly restrained by a leash or pet carrier. This policy is meant to minimize stress and maximize safety for all clients, patients, and team members.

Drop-Off Policy

The drop-off policy at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital keeps scheduled appointments, surgeries, and boarding reservations running smoothly. When you pick your pet up following their scheduled appointment or procedure, we will give you specific discharge instructions and post-operative directions.

• If your pet is scheduled for surgery, please drop them off at our facility between 7-7:30 AM. This will give our medical team ample time for thorough pre-surgical preparation.
• If your pet has an appointment with one of our groomers, please drop them off before 9:00 AM.

Pet Insurance Providers

At Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, it's important to us that pets never go without veterinary care due to financial struggles. To help our clients prepare for their pet's veterinary medical expenses, we are happy to accept and recommend Pet Insurance Providers.

Pet Adoptions

Your new forever friend is waiting for you at Oakhurst Veterinary Center!

• All potential new owners are required to complete adoption paperwork and adoption promise sheets. We want to make sure the adoptable pets at Oakhurst Veterinary Center find their perfect forever home!
• All animals will receive their vaccines at Oakhurst Veterinary Center until they are adopted. From that point on, it is the responsibility of the new owner to complete and pay for the rest of the necessary vaccines and parasite preventions.
• We will spay/neuter and microchip your new pet before they go home with you!
• Declaws are optional. If you would like your new pet to be declawed, the owner is responsible for payment.
• There is a $50 adoption fee for all animals adopted at our practice. This fee helps us provide the care these animals need!
