Do you plan on traveling with your pet? If so, it’s never too early to begin planning! One of the first steps to ensure a smooth and pleasant traveling experience with your pet is to give us a call and schedule an appointment for a Certification of Veterinary Inspection. During your pet’s visit, we will ensure they are healthy enough to travel, disease-free, parasite-free, and current on vaccines prior to signing a certified health & travel certificate.
The veterinarians at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital are federally accredited to examine your pet for strict animal health regulations specific to your destination. This is especially important if you are traveling to a different country! Please review USDA pet travel regulations well in advance to avoid travel delays any other inconveniences along the way.
When scheduling your flight, do your best to schedule a direct flight. Your pet will be much more comfortable! Also, please keep in mind, most airlines require a completed Certification of Veterinary Inspection at least ten days before departure. If possible, bring your pet with you in the passenger cabin. If your pet needs to travel in the cargo hold, double-check that the area is pressurized. This is extremely important for your pet’s safety.
Located directly East of Oakhurst Bay and Crossing at the Narrows on the corner of Park Blvd N and Oakhurst Rd.
